Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Updated bio 1-6-15 -- Hello everyone! My name is Maggie. I am a bundle of sweet cuteness and only 7 years old. I weight a perfect 12.4 lbs. I am being fostered in Southern Pines, NC.
A lot of things have happened to me in the past ten days! I have a new foster family with new doggy siblings, a new foster dad, and a foster mom. I really like my foster parents. I had doggy siblings before, so I am used to being around other dogs.
I was a little confused at first because right after leaving my previous mom, I was taken to see the dogtor. He poked me a few times with some vaccination needles and my foster mom was given some pills to help me get rid of the fleas and stop the itching. I didn’t really understand it all, but I feel much better and don’t have to scratch at myself like I used to!
A few days later, I was right back in the dogtor's office. I don’t remember much about that visit but my foster mom says that I was spayed and the boy dogs won’t be chasing me around anymore. I am pretty excited about that!
I have spent the past couple of days sleeping on the couch recovering from my surgery. I’m feeling pretty good, but I think I heard my foster mom say that I am going back to the dogtor in a few days to get my teeth cleaned. That’s probably a good thing because my teeth are pretty sensitive and my foster parents have to wet down my dog food so that I can eat it.
I spent a lot of time outside at my previous home. I don’t like to spend much time out there but I do go outside to do my business. My foster mom is always so happy when I go potty outside, she claps for me and I do a little dance for her. Yesterday I took a nap on the patio furniture because I was pretty sure my foster parents weren’t going to lock me out there, like what used to happen to me. And they didn’t!
Sometimes I have seizures. I had a small one right after arriving at my new house. My foster mom makes sure I take my medication twice a day and I haven't had one since!
I like it here in NC, but I really want to find my furever home. Please consider making me a part of your family. My foster mom says that I am a sweetheart and she doesn’t understand why someone would give me away. Once I get my teeth cleaned, I will be ready to move into your home! A family with no kids or kids older than 10 may be just perfect for me. Thanks for reading about me. By the way, aren't I about the cutest thing you ever saw?
Initial Bio 12-26-14 Maggie Mae is United Yorkie Rescue's new Christmas gift. She is an adorable 12.4 pound yorkie sweetheart who was surrendered to us today. She is 7 years old and being fostered in NC.
Maggie Mae will be taken to the vet today. We do know she has seizures, but her medication, when given regularly, has keep them under control. She was sometimes kept outside for long periods of time and has developed some skin issues possibly due to flea bites, She also needs a dental very badly. All those things and more will be taken care of in her foster home, where Maggie will be loved, and cared for, and safe.
Maggie Mae was great on her car ride to her new foster home. She will be put on a healthy diet and given all the medical care she needs. Once her foster mom knows more about her and her medical needs an update will be coming soon.
Maggie Mae is about the sweetest girl you could ever know. Maybe our Christmas gift can your your New Year's present. Maggie Mae deserves that and more.
