Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Our little street rescue, Alice, was more than worth stopping the car on the freeway to save this beautiful life. During that rescue stop, all it took was a little whistle for her to come back out of the woods and give the happiest wag of her life. She was beyond appreciative for the kindness our volunteer showed her and for the fact that she’d been scooped up into safety. Look at her gorgeous smile and inquisitive ears that go on and on. She’s a family dog and we can’t wait for her to have that love and stability in her life.
Alice is a 2 ½ year old Staffie/Labrador girl, about 40 pounds and simply the happiest and fun-loving girl we’ve ever met. She’s a perfect size and her energy level is great for a family that loves to play out in the yard daily and take a walk or two every day. She would love to go on hikes and dog parks too just to spend time bonding with you. She gets along beautifully with other dogs, big and small, so she’d love to have a furry sibling too. That furry sibling cannot be a cat because Alice seems to think cats are toys, so she must join a cat free family.
Fleas covered our girl when she was found and her skin was a mess because of them. It took a little bit of time and lots of TLC to get her skin back to healthy, but she’s so silky and shiny now. Being homeless also left her with heartworms, but she’s going through treatment and expected to be cleared of those soon too. Heartworms are a very common issue for our strays in Texas, but it is fortunately curable in a short period of time. Despite her heartworm status, she is still very much adoptable immediately and we can send her medications in her suitcase for her to continue. This doesn’t limit her activity or her spunkiness!
As we mentioned, she is the happiest chick in our pack. She adores ALL people she meets, including children. She has already had a remarkable transformation. She’s learned to enjoy life inside her foster’s house, has been crate trained, has started learning her basic commands and working on her leash walking. She’s proven to be one of the most adaptable pups since her rescue, so we know she’s ready to join her new family now. We will be sad not to have her loving companionship in our group, but she deserves her very own people and the one on one attention she will get with them.
Alice is spayed, current on all of her vaccinations and microchipped too. I’m currently being fostered in Houston, Texas and my adoption fee is $250 if adopted in the Houston area. I am available for out of state adoption too because I can be flown to your area via United Airline’s Pet Safe Program. If adopted outside of Houston, my adoption fee is $450, which will cover my adoption fee, airline flight, travel crate, kennel bed and required health papers to travel.
If you are interested in a spunky, happy and appreciative little pocket pittie, she is a perfect fit for your family. An adoption contract and adoption fee must be paid prior to her departing Houston, but those are both easy tasks and worth the time to get to spend your days with Alice. If you are interested in learning more about Alice, please email us at adoptions@reggiesfriends.org or if you think she will be a perfect addition to your family, please go to our website www.reggiesfriends.org to download an adoption application.
