My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scooter is a sweet young pup who had a rough start in life. He spent virtually his whole life in a kennel until coming into our rescue.

When we first met Scooter, he had no idea what it meant to live outside of the kennel. Everything was unfamiliar and scary to him. He was also badly underweight.

We got Scooter healthy, and have spent time working with him to teach him that the world outside of the kennel can be a wonderful and happy place. He has gradually grown more courageous - even though he is still shy with new people, given a little time, patience, and gentleness, he warms up quickly.

Scooter is good with other dogs of all sizes and also with cats. He is great with children, but because the quick movements of young children can still scare him, we recommend a home with older children.

Scooter will do well in a family who can give him the daily exercise he needs, and can commit to working with him to further encourage him to be brave.

He is a totally wonderful dog who, when he gives his trust and love, is loyal and affectionate and giving of himself.

Scooter is neutered, UTD with all of his shots, and heartworm and lyme negative.

He is just beginning to realize that the rest of his life holds safety and security and happiness. He is waiting for a forever family to make that his future reality!
