Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Carolina deserves so much love and respect and up until just recently, she’s not been given those things. She’s had a life of breeding and taking care of her babies. Her body tells us so much about her purpose in life thus far and we fully intend to let her know that she’s so much more than that to us.
Carolina was dropped off at the shelter recently and after one look at her beautiful photos, we knew that she was coming with us and we would find her the perfect family that she’s always dreamed of.
She’s a beauty, both inside and out. Carolina is an American Staffordshire terrier mix, about 3 ½ years old and 45 pounds. Her short, red brindle coat is stunning and compliments her gorgeous, soulful, amber eyes. Her ears have been cropped very short and have lasting scars showing that the surgery was handled very poorly. Her sagging belly shows that she took very good care of many litters. The only thing her belly will have to do going forward is to get belly rubs.
The best word to describe her is gentle. She’s so incredibly loving, sweet and affectionate. It just hurts to know that she’s not been loved her whole life! We already love this lady and we’ve just gotten to know her. She makes it easy to adore her.
Carolina interacts beautifully with dogs of all sizes. One of her first friends here with us was a tiny poodle, so she has proven to be perfectly dog friendly. While she was living at the local shelter, we was boarding with 3 other dogs of similar size, but very different personalities, which tells us that she’s not reactive to others either.
This lady is still young, only about 3 years old, but she is retiring from the really hard job that she had and now she’s looking for a relaxing life of casual strolls in the park, laying on the couch at home and soaking in some rays in the backyard on nice summer days. She’s envisioning a quality meal twice a day, snacks and pampering for the rest of her life. Believe me, it won’t be one sided. She fully intends to smoother you with love and affection. I can see her cuddled up with her new owner watching movies together. The family members are going to have to call dibs on who gets to cuddle with her each night.
This is a very special girl and we are very eager to find her the perfect family to share her endless love with. Carolina is ready to join her new pack now. She’s fully vetted now (spayed, microchipped, and has all of her current vaccinations). She is house, kennel and leash trained. She is currently being fostered in HOUSTON, but can be flown to your area via United Pet Safe. Her adoption fee (including flight, travel kennel, kennel bed, and health certification) is $400.
An adoption contract and her adoption fee must be paid prior to her departing Houston. If you are interested in learning more about Carolina, please email us at adoptions@reggiesfriends.org or if you think she’s the next member of your family, please go to our website www.reggiesfriends.org to download an adoption application.
