Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Do you have room on your couch??? Winter would love to be your new best friend!
Winter has had a rough start in life, a stray found wandering in the southern tier wilderness, she has put on some weight and her frost bite has healed. She has acclimated to living indoors very well, is housebroke, crate trained and knows basic commands. She is wonderful with the other dogs in her foster home also! Winter is also wonderful with kids!
Please email us only regarding the adoption of our rescues. We are very sorry but we simply do not have time to return everyone's phone calls as we are a very small and all volunteer group who also work full time jobs. We will return your emails however in a timely fashion.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter. Please email empirerescue@gmail.com to get an adoption application for me emailed to you. You will be so glad you did. Be sure to write WINTER in the subject line of the email.
If you cannot adopt but you would like to help you can make a donation or sponsorship to defray the cost of our high vetting bills please mail donations to: EARS, 2 Fancher Ave, Salamanca, NY 14779. You are also able to make donations via Pay Pal to us at empirerescue@gmail.com. We are in need of help for our spay and neuter clinics and emergency angel fund as more and more animals need our help off the streets and back country roads! Any amount is greatly appreciated!!! Did you know that your donation to EARS is also tax-exempt? That's just an added bonus to helping a homeless animal in need!
Did you know that sharing saves lives? Please like us on Facebook at Empire Animal Rescue Society to keep up to date with our new rescues and events! Sharing pets via Facebook has saved thousands upon thousands of animals from being put to death in shelters! You never know when one of your friends might be in the market for a new pet! Besides, sharing only takes a few seconds!
Why Adopt? Adopting rather than shopping for your next pet will help to reduce the number of animals euthanized. Adopting a pet actually saves TWO LIVES as you free up space for another animal in need to find lasting love through the wonder of adoption.
You’ll get a pet who is spayed or neutered, vaccinated and healthy. As opposed to purchasing or getting a “free to a good home” pet, you’ll welcome a fully-vetted companion animal in to your life.
Contrary to popular belief, the vast majority of shelter pets are homeless through no fault of their own. Divorce, financial constraints, time limitations and NOT the animal’s health & or behavior are the most common reasons an animal is left homeless.
You’ll save money. Many pets in the shelter system are already spayed or neutered and if not, shelters often receive a discount from their participating veterinarian and passes the savings on to the adoptive family. Also, adoption fees are much less expensive than buying from a breeder or pet store.
