Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dash is a 4 year old Pekingese/dachshund mix. He's house trained and wee wee pad trained and is well mannered when left alone (but not crate trained). Dash loves other dogs and enjoys playing fetch when in a yard or off leash.
Dash has a few challenges which makes him better suited for an experienced dog owner. He has food allergies which are manageable with medication and diet and will not be a problem if a limited ingredient dry or wet food diet is followed. He also prefers to pick out his own family- he is somewhat people selective. While Dash has lived with other dogs and gets along with cats, he's probably not ready for other human siblings; a home without young children is probably best.
Although all this might sound like a lot, Dash is a happy, goofy dog when he feels comfortable. He loves praise and wants very much to have a family of his own- could that be you?

** It would be a great help to us if you can pick up your dog from transport, which is centrally located from Northern NJ and NYC, or foster home.
**PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR PHONE NUMBER IN YOUR INQUIRY** We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them. Please do not submit an inquiry if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process.
Our adoption fee is $475. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, 30 days of pet insurance, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses.
All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where it is kept for a minimum of 2 weeks for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. After the 2 week quarantine time they are spayed/neutered and fully vetted. They are then placed on the website. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested in it, we make arrangements with the waiting foster to pick the animal up from the airport to then meet with the potential adopter. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
