About Joey

Joey was rescued along with a van full of other dogs brought in to Winnipeg rescues during a cull. She was pregnant and on April 20th had 4 puppies. All 4 puppies have been adopted and now Joey is waiting for her family to find her.
Joey loves to play, she is energetic outside and calm when she’s in the house. Outside play involves running and chasing and wrestling with anyone who will play with her. She loves all other dogs and will tolerate cats, although if they run, she thinks they want her to chase them. She enjoys squeaky toys, and also enjoys tearing the stuffing out of stuffed toys.
She is great with puppies and kittens, thinking that she needs to mother them all, she helps me clean all the babies, carrying them to her bed to play with. She is also great around human children as well. She runs around with my grandson, always careful not to knock him down, and making sure he’s still keeping up with her.
Because of her merle coloring I believe Joey is an Australian Cattle Dog cross. She has a natural herding behaviour and is very smart. She doesn’t enjoy being left home alone, but goes into her crate as soon as she thinks I’m getting ready to leave the house.
