My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

OCTOBER 2014: SUCCOTASH, CORNBREAD and PEABODY are three brothers who another Rescue group took from the front entrance of an Odessa Texas Kill Shelter the day they were stuffed in a laundry basket and dumped at the front door. The Rescue group got the "approval" from the "owner" before they even entered the facility. After a brief stay in their Rescue, we organized transport to our Rescue in southwest New Mexico.

Upon arrival, these sweet boys were terrified, not socialized with humans, children in particular, and other dogs, were food protective, and were most particularly not house trained, trained on leash, or to ride in a car.

My guess is that they were "backyard dogs". Since their arrival, they have been sleeping in my bed, sharing a house and yard and sharing food bowls with 20+ large and small dogs, allow everyone to pet them or carry them (with caution, because they are still fearful), but they are each extremely lovable and affectionate! Each of these boys has their own individual personality and they cuddle with each other for safety -- they are very bonded. They have come a LOOOOOOONG WAY in a short time and deserve to be loved and safe.

They are all continuing to be house trained, they are not "barkers" or "yappy", have medium energy, are playful with each other and other dogs.

They are all now neutered and current on shots. THEY LOVE TO BE LOVED AND PETTED AND TALKED TO GENTLY. WE ARE OFFERING A 3 FOR 1 ADOPTION DISCOUNT IF THE BOYZ CAN BE ADOPTED TOGETHER.

Please Note: Succotash has a condition called Brachygnathia. It occurs when the lower jaw is shorter than the upper jaw. It is a minor abnormality and does not affect his eating or breathing. It does, however, make him cute as heck because his tongue hangs out!
