Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Smokey is a 2 1/2 year old Shepherd/Border Collie mix who came to Ruff Life along with many other dogs from a hoarding case. Smokey is a shy, but sweet girl, who is coming out of her shell and learning to trust. She is making great improvements and is more outgoing each week we see her at adoption events!
Smokey has lived with kids and cats and is great with other dogs as well! She is doing great in her foster home...learning to act and play like a dog! Smokey is crate and house trained.
Smokey's ideal home would be one who understands that she used to live outdoors with 20+ other dogs. Smokey seems to warm up to females quicker than males, so it would be ideal to have at least one female adult figure in Smokey's new home. A fenced yard is a must, and another dog is preferred.
Smokey is spayed, heartworm negative, microchipped, up to date on vaccines (distemper/parvo, bordetella and rabies), and is on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
Smokey has a grade 4 luxating patella, but it is recommended to not do any surgery on the knee as it does not bother Smokey one bit. Her knee may never bother her in her life, or it may- there is no telling.
Our adoption fee is $250. All dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, fecal tested and up to date on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Puppies are up to date on age appropriate shots. Adults are also up to date on vaccines and heart worm tested (and treated if positive).
