Here's what the humans have to say about me:
About Lucky:
* about 5 months old
* working on crate training
* working on potty training
* kids 12 and older
* adoption fee- $290
History: Lucky came from an overcrowded shelter in California.
Health: Lucky has been spayed, up to date on DHPP, Rabies and Bordatella vaccines, microchipped, dewormed and had flea prevention.
Notes from Lucky's foster family: Lucky is a small pup with a lot of spunk. She gets along well with cats and other dogs and loves to play with both. She is submissive with other dogs when needed.
We're working on crate training for when we're out of the house. She's not fond of it but with some treats she'll go in without a fuss. She is also fed in her crate. She is not food aggressive- she takes food from your hand gently as well as allows you to move her dish without issues. She also doesn't chow down food quickly, she chews it once piece at a time.
We are working on house breaking. She's starting to understand that the back door is where she needs to go to be let out. Also learning the phrase "outside" and "potty". When she goes to the back door we ask if she needs to go outside and go potty which she starts bouncing around. We are still having accidents (puppy pads are more of a chew toy rather than being for their intended use) but are minimizing them with positive encouragement when she goes outside and goes to the back door to indicate she needs to go out. She does have an excited pee when someone comes in the door which we've been working on through not acknowledging her right away and taking her outside to give her initial attention. Seems to be working.
She loves to curl up in your lap and be under foot. She loves to be where you are and will sleep on the couch, bed, or a puppy bed. At night, she sleeps in bed and at some point will curl up with you for a bit.
As far as car rides, she's not fond of them at all especially in a crate. With proper training and positive encouragement I'm sure she'll get over it. I attribute the car sickness to negative experiences so far.
She's very mouthy but that's due to teething. She is understanding "no" and we're working on "sit" as well as "down". She knows her name and responds well. She does jump on you when you come in the door, working on that as well.
She is a very sweet girl and will definitely make a great pup and would do well with another dog. She has lots of energy. She does well on a leash, but needs coaxing through doors.
