Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Bella! I'm an 8 year old bichon/poodle mix, and I'm proud to say I'm a breast cancer survivor! My family left me at a kill shelter when they discovered a tumor. Luckily, Safe Haven Bichon and Friends Rescue didn't let the tumor scare them away from pulling me from the shelter and getting all my medical needs taken care of and loving me until a forever home is found. The tumor was removed, and yes it was cancerous, but through x-ray and ultrasound, no evidence was found that the cancer had spread to other parts of my body, and the cancerous tumor has been removed.
Now for the more important part. Anyone who meets me will tell you that I'm just a little lovebug. I LOVE to be held and cuddled. I just lean in and put my head on your shoulder. I'd make a great companion for just about anyone. I've been in a foster home with a lot of dogs and did okay with it, although I'd prefer a home where I get all the attention or there's maybe just a dog or two. I'm currently in a foster home with two little yorkies and a 2 year old child and do fine in that setting as well. I'm used to having a fenced yard, so I hope my forever home will have that. Another dog would be fine, but I'd also be fine as an only dog. Besides cuddling with my humans, I enjoy playing fetch. I'm just a happy little girl who wants to give and receive love.
Since being rescued, I've been spayed, microchipped, heartworm testsed (negative), dewormed, vaccinated, had a dental cleaning and had a mammary tumor removed. I'm being fed a high-quality food that doesn't contain any corn, wheat, soy, meat by-products or other low-quality ingredients, and I hope my new family will continue to feed me a high-quality food for the rest of my life. I'm being fostered in Appleton, WI, and my adoption fee is $200. If you're interested in adopting me, please email Margaret at loveforbichons@gmail.com to request an application.
The adoption process with Safe Haven Bichon and Friends Rescue includes an application, reference checks, and a home visit. We do not ship dogs on planes or send them on transports. Adopters need to come to the foster home to adopt.
