My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Pepper! I'm a 5 month old blue merle Chihuahua baby, and everyone tells me I'm as cute as can be! I only weigh about 4 lbs., so will likely top off at about 7 lbs. or so as an adult. I was rescued from a puppy mill. Apparently no one bought me when I was tiny, or maybe the breeder had considered keeping me for breeding and then decided against it. I'm sure glad to be in rescue now so that I can find a wonderful forever home!

I LOVE to play, play, play! I like to play both with toys--I love carrying toys around in my mouth that are almost as big as I am--and with the other dogs here at my foster home. I also absolutely love to be held and cuddled. In the second picture I'm being held by my foster daddy. It feels so good to be cozied up to someone.

I'm just your typical adorable pup who wants to play until I wear myself out and then cuddle up for a nap. I would prefer a home with another small dog. A fenced yard is not necessary for me.

Since being rescued, I've been neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and brought up to date on my vaccinations. I'm being fed a high-quality puppy food that doesn't contain any corn, wheat, soy, meat by-products or other low-quality ingredients, and I hope my new family will continue to feed me a high-quality food for the rest of my life. The adoption process with Safe Haven Bichon and Friends Rescue includes an application, reference checks, and a home visit. We do not ship dogs on planes or send them on transports. Adopters need to come to the foster home to adopt.
