Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Jenny. I'm an approx. 2 year old poodle mix, likely with bichon frise. I'm a fine-boned little girl weighing just 9 lbs. I was found as a stray in the Chicago area and brought into animal control. Luckily, Safe Haven Bichon and Friends Rescue pulled me from the shelter so now I have a chance to find my forever home.
My foster family will tell you that I'm extremely sweet and that I love to be held and cuddled. They say I'd make a perfect lap dog for someone. I like to play with toys a bit, but what I really love the most is just cuddling and being loved by people. There are a lot of other dogs at my foster home, but I'm really not interested in playing much with them. I'd prefer to be in a family where I'm the only dog. I'm very well-behaved according to my foster parents. My favorite thing besides cuddling is mealtime! I was very thin when I came to rescue so finally having regular meals is awesome! I was also a matted mess and feel so much better since my foster mom removed all my mats and cleaned me all up. Life is good. The only thing that would make it better is a forever family of my very own.
Since being rescued I've been spayed, microchipped, heartworm tested (negative) dewormed, vaccinated, and I even had my teeth cleaned so now they're sparkly white again! I'm being fed a high-quality food that doesn't contain any corn, wheat, soy, meat by-products or other low-quality ingredients, and I hope my new family will continue to feed me a high-quality food for the rest of my life. I'm being fostered in Barneveld, WI, and my adoption fee is $350. If you're interested in adopting me, please email Margaret at loveforbichons@gmail.com to request an application.
The adoption process with Safe Haven Bichon and Friends Rescue includes an application, reference checks, and a home visit. We do not ship dogs on planes or send them on transports. Adopters need to come to the foster home to adopt.
