Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Bruno and he is a Cairn Terrier and Shih Tzu mix. He has a very unique look that makes him very
attractive. He even has the cutest little underbite. And that Shih Tzu curled tail is almost always
wagging. Bruno is still a young dog, estimated to be about a year old. Bruno is a somewhat reserved dog.
He takes a little time to warm up to new people, but he isn’t really fearful, just cautious. Once he knows
you he is a loving dog. He will sit next to you and lick your face when you are at his level. He is still
getting comfortable with being picked up. He has learned sit and the kennel
command so far. He needs someone to continue to be patient with him and work slowly with him as he
gets more comfortable being exposed to new people and places.
Bruno is crate trained and is used to being crated when no one is home. Bruno does need a home with
at least one other dog that he can follow. Bruno is used to being with other dogs and he is a follower
and not a leader. His best canine buddy would be a confident and social dog that can show Bruno that
people are OK and even fun. Bruno likes to wrestle and play, but is also happy curled up with another
dog chilling out. Bruno is mostly housetrained. He needs a little more direction and training in that
area. As Bruno became more confident in his foster home, he found his voice. He doesn’t bark a lot,
but he will bark when he is excited or when you are talking directly to him. He thinks it is only polite to
answer you. Bruno is up to date on
vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. Bruno is pretty good at walking on leash when it is with
someone he knows.
Right now he is used to going out in a fenced yard and he loves to play chase with the other dogs. Bruno
needs a fenced yard to keep him safe as he learns to be more confident and trust his new family.
He knows his name, but he does not have a good recall yet.
If you are looking for a calm but playful buddy for your current dog, Bruno might be the one for you. As
long as you aren’t jealous that he will probably be friends with your dog before he becomes your best
friend. But give him time and he will steal a piece of your heart.
