My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Abby - I may look like a big tough girl but I am the sweetest, calmest loveliest pooch you could ever hope to meet! I am a 5 year old female Rottweiler who was abandoned by my former owner when she decided to move away - and that I was no longer welcome in her life. I ended up in the dog pound and was so confused and bewildered - until I began my journey into rescue and straight into my wonderful foster home. Now I feel reborn! I am fully house trained and crate trained but I have such spectacular manners that I don't really even need a crate. I do well with other dogs though I can be a bit bossy (just like a girl, right???) occasionally so if there are other dogs in the home I would prefer medium to large breed males only. I want to be the QUEEN of my castle don't you know? I am so very affectionate - I just melt when you pay attention to me - I can't wag my stumpy tail fast enough or love on you more. I walk well on a leash and I am great in the car. I love to go on long walks with you and snooze by your side on a cold winter night. I am somewhat leery of strangers which is relatively typical of a rottie so people with previous breed experience would be best! I want to make sure my new family truly understands me and all of the 'rottie' gifts that I have to give. If you love a Rottweiler I am probably the perfect girl for you - well trained, past that annoying puppy stage and completely ready to jump right into your heart and home. Perfection in a black and rust package, no question.
