Update 07/09/08: Monk again, still here in VA. My FM says I haven't had an application with my two requirements...a fenced in yard.... and a forever home with "terrier" experience. Now..come on...yes I can run, there is so much to see...yes I can jump...it is fun...well, maybe I do need a fence so I won't get lost. Now...that terrier experience..what is that about? Just because I want my way and will try to get it? I just want what I want. I get along with FM's dog because he lets me have my way...what a pal. I don't appear to get along with other dogs at first meeting, I bark and bark, not too friendly..they use up my space. I would be fine as an only dog...or maybe just one like FM's. I guess you see my personality...it is all about me. My FD loves me so..boy do I have that man wrapped around my finger...but I give him lots of kisses, meet him at the door when he returns home, sleep on his feet. I could do the same for you if you have those two requirements...think about it...if you do, please place an application. FM says she must do a home visit for me....no more than 60 miles from 23922.
Update 06/02/08: What can I say...I am still here in Virginia waiting for my forever home. My foster moms says I have to wait for someone with some "terrier" experience. I like to be the "dominant" in my household so FM and FD have to make sure they remind me of my place. My forever parents will have to be prepared to do the same thing. I love to sleep very close to you(sleeping with FM's daughter, she is home from college to play with me for the summer), love to take walks outside, will bark at noises, squirrels outside the window, and those cats....I would love to chase them but FM says "No Monk, No". I like to sit in your lap but remember I am only 4...so I still have lots of energy. If you think we might be a match, please put in an application....(need to live within 50 to 60 miles of 23922 for home visit...some exceptions may be made if another member is close by for home visit)
Update 05/06/08 It is me again....Monk....here with foster Mom and Dad. I am really glad to be here, people to love and they love me...it has helped me be all I can be..but FM's dog keeps reminding me that I need to find my forever home. Mom says I am doing better with playing with FM's dog, sharing my toys....but I still let him know when I have had enough. What can I say....I have a very dominant personality...I think that is why FM says I would do best with someone with "terrier" experience. I love to sit in your lap, give kisses..helping FM with this update...will play with your dog or other dogs but will be the leader of the pack....or attempt to be. I saw these things called cats....I barked, tried to chase them....may do alright but not sure. FM wouldn't let me introduce myself properly. She said that "no" word I am learning but hate to hear. I do well on the lease....love to run...need a fenced in backyard. FM says I really am a "people" dog, would be fine if I was the only dog....King of the Hill....would kiss you, let you hug me, sleep very close to you....like to be touching my "people". I am great with FD too....maybe like him more than FM??? Don't tell her. Could your home be my forever home??? Get that application in!!
Update 03/29/08: Hi...it is me, Monk, here in VA. I went to the vet and the vet said no problems...only minor allergies that I take a pill once a day..FM says they are real cheap. The vet confirmed that I am 4 years old, weigh 9 lbs. I have been getting use to my foster home and FM's dog....I play some but think I would like to be an only dog, no small children. I give lots of kisses, love to be in your lap. My FM says I need a fenced in yard...I love to run but if it is something interesting...well, I keep on running. I am completely housetrained, walk well on a leash, love to go outside. FM says I have a dominant personality, so some terrier experience would be good. I have a problem sharing my toys, FM is working with me on learning to share...but will share my water, food, with FM's dog. It is just those squeaky things, I think toys are new to me...I want them all....FM says my personality is continuing to develop, so check for updates or email her....FM thinks I would be great for an single person or couple, looking for an only dog to sit in their lap, take walks..did I say I travel great...hey...what else could you ask for in a dog???....looking for my forever home...lots of love to give..

Original Bio 03/21/08: Monk was a stray taken in by the Charlottesville SPCA. The debate is on whether he is a silky terrier or yorkie or mix...but look...he is so cute!! He is reported to weigh lbs., another debate on age, between 3 and 6 years, and weighs 9 pounds. He will be going to the vet for his check-up next week and I will update on age, weight...As Monk settles in, FM and Monk will update, take more pictures, but he wanted to tell you all to get to work on those applications(for home visit need to be relatively close to zip 23922), email FM for information......Monk is looking for his forever home.
