Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet our cutest little sweetheart Sparkles!! Sparkles is young and small…only 15lbs and about 8 months old. She is a “princess” of a pup and likes to be the center of your attention! Sparkles is a mix of jack or maybe dachshund? and merle heeler, which gives her the most amazing and super cool coat; funniest, biggest stand-up ears and a tendency towards wanting to be a spoiled only child! Sparkles is great with other dogs outside, but definitely does not need to have a “pack” of other pups. She gets slightly protective indoors and should be nicknamed “Velcro” as she just being around her people! She is playful and independent and is not a fragile small dog at all! She is very smart and working on her basic commands. Sparkles is most happy as a lap dog and has previously been carried considerably (!). This adorable cutie pie was rescued out of high kill north Georgia’s Gordon County Shelter by her foster mom, but it is obvious that she was a house dog and someone’s pampered pet. Sparkles is crate trained, and awesome in her crate. She is totally house trained and spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. She is getting better on the leash and while she has started enjoying her daily walks, does not need a large amount of exercise. She loves to play with you, is getting good at fetch, loves her toys and to hang out around your yard or park. Sparkles is fine with cats indoors and outdoors too She has been known to bark at strangers and will tell you if someone is approaching (good thing!) but otherwise is not a big barker. Like most Doxie’s she doesn’t know she is a small dog! Sparkles might not be best for young children due to both her breeds as her foster mom does not have little kids- but older kids will be fine. She enjoys play and lots of love and attention! She LOVES care rides and will enjoy being your co-pilot on errands and travel. She would do very well in training class with you to get everyone on the same page and help her socialize to her new environment faster. Sparkles can’t wait to get out of crappy Georgia and to her new home in Washington State. Special little Sparkles will be flying to SeaTac on Friday, Dec 12th and ready to meet at the airport. She is ready for her new caring and loving owner who understands her simple needs and her smart and “all about me” makeup! She will thank you with eternal gratitude, tons of kisses, and lap warmth forever! Please apply to adopt this amazing doll baby Sparkles, go to our online adoption application at www.raincityrescue.com (http://www.raincityrescue.com/#!adopt/c209x) or email Pam at raincityrescue@gmail.com. Her adoption fee is $400.
