Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Loyal is the perfect word to describe our Sadie! She would love nothing more than to have a person or two to whom she can devote all of her attention and affection. She is a 5 year old German Shepherd/ Labrador mix (born in 2009) with a beautiful cream-colored coat and the most attentive ears imaginable.
Sadie got her second chance at life after being found wandering in the Corridor area of Houston, Texas. It was obvious that she needed immediate help and we didn’t waste another minute. At the time, she weighed a mere 38 pounds and it was obvious she was incredibly happy to have been scooped up and taken into the safety of a foster home. Now she is a 55 pound, healthy, fun-loving girl. She still bears some physical scars from her life on the rough streets, but that hasn’t stopped her from becoming the wonderful pet that she was destined to be.
Sadie will make a great companion to anyone looking for a life-long friend. She is extremely affectionate and wants nothing more than to spend time with the people who love her. She will easily become your shadow and want to do what you are doing. She is potty-trained, and although her favorite place to sleep is in the bed with you, she is okay with sleeping in her kennel as well. Sadie really has the perfect energy level. She loves to go on long hikes, play ball, and engage in a game of tug of war, but she’s also just as happy lounging around with her people too. She will cuddle with you at any time of any day and is happy to oblige if you feel the need to scratch her ears for hours. Some of her cute, quirky qualities, such as racing you to her favorite toy, will definitely keep you smiling. She loves treats and will “sit” for them as many times as you ask. Sadie’s absolute happiest time is riding in the car, so she is the perfect dog to take on any trip no matter if it’s around the corner or across the country. She will alert you of anyone approaching your house, but will greet them lovingly when you let her know they are friends and welcome inside. Although she does well on walks with other dogs and at the dog park, she prefers to be the only dog in the home getting all the attention for herself. Sadie’s ideal family is one who can give her the time and attention she craves. She will definitely pay you back in love and affection a million times over. Are you ready for lots of new adventures and cuddling? If so, Sadie is the girl for you! Sadie currently lives in Houston, Texas and is on the network for Seattle because we have amazing volunteers that live here who help coordinate successful out-of-state adoptions. Corridor Rescue has the very fortunate ability to transport dogs to other states via the United Airlines PetSafe program. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $150. The transport cost is $225, which includes the airline flight, a new pet travel kennel that you can keep upon arrival and the required health documents from the veterinarian. The grand total for adopting this pet including adoption and transportation fee is $375. To adopt Sadie, please submit an adoption application online at www.corridorrescue.org under the More Information tab. If you have any questions, please email corridorrescueadopt@gmail.com Thank you!
