Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Charleigh is with A.H.A.R.T looking for her happy ending. Unfortunately, Charleigh's owner passed away and Charleigh found herself at a high kill shelter. With the help of K9 Crusaders and caring volunteers, Charleigh was rescued from death row and is now is safe in our care where she will remain until her forever home is found.
Charleigh is a beautiful black and tan girl with a stockier build. We expect she will be around 60-70 lbs as an adult. Charleigh is an exuberant, playful and friendly puppy. It is very apparent that Charleigh's owner loved her very much as she is a well socialized and happy girl.
Charleigh is young so she will need proper guidance to blossom into a great companion. She does know some commands and is housetrained though she will need work with her manners and leash etiquette. Charleigh is learning what is and isn't appropriate to chew on, so we would recommend crate training as she can not yet be trusted alone in the home.
Charleigh is friendly with everyone she meets and is more than willing to give you a sloppy kiss and many tail wags. Charleigh, like any puppy, does get excited when meeting new people and will jump up, however with consistent training this behaviour can easily be curbed.
Charleigh still mouths a bit when she is playing, so we would not recommend she go to home with young children. She would, however, love some older children or teenagers that are a bit more dog savvy to help with her training and exercise. Charleigh would be great as a second dog or on her own as long as her exercise needs are being met.
