Update 11/4/2008
Great Scott! NO! Great Saint!!!
For months we have been trying to figure out what breed is mixed with Millicent's Dane so we gave up and did a DNA swab. Our beautiful Millie is a Great Saint! We are very proud of Millie's improvements in foster care and now she is ready to go home! Come meet Millie our Great Saint at our meet and greet on November 15th at Reigning Cats and Dogs.
She has learned how to be social, both with people and other dogs, in an appropriate manner. She plays in the yard and is living successfully in a pack. She has enjoyed several of our Meet and Greet events and was a rock star! She is adorable and very sweet natured. She would be a great addition to any family.
Do you like candy? If you do, you'll love Millie. What a trooper! She has been through a lot, having babies probably every heat cycle, never on Heartworm prevention, not vaccinated, who knows honestly. She was found as a stray, she was 78lbs, Heartworm positive, and Lyme positive, her coat was a mess and so was she frankly. Well that is all gone. Her vaccinations have been brought up to date, she has been spayed, she's been treated for her Heartworm and Lyme, weighing in at over 100lbs, and her coat is as luxurious as the velvet on an Elvis painting. She is loyal, obedient, and loves to be with her people. She is content laying at your feet wherever you are, in the recliner, at your computer, or out in your yard. She is a dream on a leash, hardly barks, and gets along well with everyone she meets. Millie came into rescue not knowing how to wag her tail and with empty eyes. Her eyes now have a sparkle to them and she wags her tail, even when you pet her. She is crate trained as well. Her crate is her security blanket so her new owners will need to be ok with that. Sometimes she just likes to go in and lay down. Her hobbies include, squeaking, squeaking, and squeaking. She absolutely adores her squeaky toys. She really could care less about other dogs her size. She much prefers her people. We do think that Millie (aka Mildred or Millicent) spent an awful lot of her time defending her babies and having them taken away. She doesn't care for cats or little dogs so she can not be asked to share her home with them. We have no history on Millie so because of that, she can also not be asked to share her home with children. They may make her nervous. Millie deserves to start her life over, on the right paw. Can you be the one that helps her do that?
This dog will be adopted to Maine or New Hampshire only
