Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Charlie and he is a Cairn Terrier and Shih Tzu mix. He has a very unique look that makes him very attractive. He even has the cutest little underbite. And that Shih Tzu curled tail is almost always wagging. But don’t let his fluffy exterior fool you, his personality and energy level is more in line with the terrier side than the Shih Tzu. Charlie is still a young dog, estimated to be about a year old. He is very social and happy to meet new people. We are working on an appropriate greeting that doesn’t involve putting his front feet on everyone, but that will come with some more training. He has learned sit and the kennel command so far, he just needs someone to continue to work with him. Charlie is always a happy dog ready to play with toys, other dogs or people. Charlie can be a little pushy with smaller and more submissive dogs. He would be a good match for another dog his size or bigger that is also interested in playing.
Charlie is crate trained, within limits. He is a curious dog that will get into things when left to his own devices, so a crate is necessary for him when no one is home. He is a smart dog and can sometimes figure out how to get out of his crate. Therefore, we are looking for a very specific home for him. Charlie needs a home that has someone home most of the time with him. He needs a home with other dogs that he can play and roughhouse with. His behavior is very correctible when someone is with him to keep him engaged. He won’t need your full attention all day, he does settle after activity, but he does not like to be left alone or with just the other dogs. Charlie would make a great dog to do other activities with. He would be great at agility or flyball. He is very friendly and outgoing and could go almost anywhere with you.
Charlie sleeps on a dog bed in his foster home’s bedroom at night. Sometimes he will move to the bed, but not always. Charlie is housebroken and a quiet dog, not prone to barking. He is up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped.
Right now he is used to going out in a fenced yard and he loves to play chase with the other dogs. Charlie also likes to hang out with you after playtime by sitting on your lap and giving you lots of kisses. If you are looking for a dog with good, enthusiastic energy but is also a snuggler you need to meet Charlie. You won’t be disappointed with this bundle of happy dog. He will always put a smile on your face.
