Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Please visit the Collie Rescue Network website and fully read our adoption process before sending an inquiry. Please fill in the adoption application found there. Adoption applications can be found at the Collie Rescue Network website. Chloe is being fostered in Ontario.
This gorgeous girl is Chloe. She is approx. 5 years old and would like to find a home where she can be the only dog. She bonds much more with people than other dogs and while she will sniff and wander around with her current foster brother (also a Collie) she can really take him or leave him. She's not interested in playing with him much and overall will be happiest if she could just be the only dog to soak up all the love and attention herself. **Update - as Chole has setted into her foster home, she is showing much more interest in playing with her foster brother! She's now starting a game of Chase Me on occasion and happily romps around the garden with him. With a laid-back doggie buddy, Chole would be very happy!**
Chole is good with cats and any dog savvy cat would be fine with her around. She loves people and is happy to meet and greet all the people who want to tell her how beautiful she is. She is very sweet and would love a home where she is allowed to snooze on the couch.
Chloe will guard food from other animals but this has been easily workable in her foster home with some minor feeding adjustments. When another dog (or cats) are in the home, Chloe is fed in a totally separate area (bathroom or behind a baby-gate for example). Once dinner is over, all the dishes are picked up off the floor before Chloe is let back out and the issue becomes, really, a non-issue! Someone versed in food guarding will be needed. A home with NO small children under the age of 10 years because of the food guarding. **Update: As Chloe has settled in, the food guarding is becoming less and less of an issue. Someone who was willing to spend a little time to let her settle and do just a little work in this area will find she's actually a quick learner and that she just needs to know there is enough for everyone.**
Chloe is well-behaved in the house, barks very little (when excited and playing mostly), is very clean and reliably house-trained. She is great in the tub and good with brushing her beautiful shiny coat!
Someone looking for a sweet, happy companion will love Chloe. She knows her basic obedience and will thrive as the only dog, loving all the attention and snuggling on the couch with you! If you feel you are the right home for Chloe, please fill in the online application found on the website at www.collierescuenetwork.com.
An adoption fee of $350 applies for all adopted dogs.
