Black and Tan 1 1/2 year old German Shepherd

Welcome Shadow to the BrightStar family! Shadow is a 1 1/2 year old Black and Tan Shepherd - owner surrender. He's spent 6 months in a shelter waiting for his new forever family. Due to his long time in a shelter, he does exhibit some separation anxiety, but he is an absolute love to everyone he meets. 

He is all puppy and loves to play. We are working on not jumping when he greets his "people." He walks nicely on a leash when he is by himself, but tugs and pulls when out with his foster siblings. He would be perfectly happy to be the only dog in the house. The shelter tells us he got along with other dogs. He gets along well with one foster sibling, but competes for dominance with the other. 

Shadow is house trained, but not crate trained. We are working on that and are able to sleep through the night without him whining. He is a snuggler! He loves to jump up on the couch with you and sleep with his head on your lap. 

The shelter tells us he is quite the jumper and is able to leap over 6 ft fencing. 

He is heart worm negative, up-to-date on all shots, and is microchipped. He is a bit underweight, so he  will need a diet that will help him get to a healthy weight. 

Shadow's first Meet and Greet with be the first Sunday in January at the Country Max in Fairport.
