Here's what the humans have to say about me:
UPDATED BIO 11/16/2014: Alli is a 7 year old 9 lb little girl who is being fostered in Eustis, FL.
Hi, my name is Alli. I'm a 7 year old, 9 lb. Yorkshire Terrier girl being fostered in Eustis, FL
I am continuing to settle into my new life in my foster home. My foster parents are very good to me and are helping me adjust to my new life. I have some REALLY GREAT qualities…….I am SMART, affectionate, and as you can see from my picture…..COMPLETELY ADORABLE!
However, I do have some “special” doggie “issues” that any potential adopter should be aware of. You see, in my life before United Yorkie Rescue saved me, I never really felt “SAFE.” Because of that, I am VERY AFRAID of other dogs and do NOT do well around them and have even been known to become aggressive towards them if I feel threatened. I have heard my new foster humans say that I was likely bullied by other dogs before coming to UYR so I don’t feel safe unless I am the ONLY fur-baby in the home. It is also very likely that in my previous life I had to fight to get my share of food. For this reason, I have something called “food aggression.” That means that I don’t like it when someone tries to take my food bowl away and I will guard my bowl even if I don’t want to eat anymore. I also have something called “separation anxiety.” That means I do NOT like to be away from my person and I need someone who will let me be their Puppy SHADOW. I WANT and NEED and DESERVE a human who wants to spend LOTs of time with me.
You see, even though I have some puppy “issues” I LOVE my PEOPLE and I need someone who will LOVE ME just as much! It doesn’t matter if they are male or female or BOTH. In turn, I will give you my CONSTANT affection and be your BESTEST BUDDY GIRLIE! I am very affectionate and LOVE to be picked up, held and lay on my back for delicious belly rubs. I also want to sleep in with my human in their big, soft HUMAN BED where we can snuggle together. I LOVE to play with toys and of course…….I want my human to join in the play TOO!
I am house-trained as long as you take me outside on a regular schedule and don’t make me wait too long. I will also use a potty pad. When I go out to go “potty” I don’t wander far from my person. However, if my human is up for a walk I am ALL IN! I love to go for walks and do great on a leash. I would probably do just fine in an apartment or town house since I don’t have much of a desire to run around outside.
Could YOU be that SPECIAL PERSON who is home a lot wants me to be your ONE and ONLY Personal Puppy Shadow? If so, please HURRY and fill out and application to become my FOREVER PERSON. I CAN’T WAIT TO MEET YOU.
Puppy Kisses, Alli
UPDATED BIO 10/21/2014: Alli is a 7 year old 9 lb little girl who is being fostered in Eustis, FL.
Hi guys, Alli here! I want everyone to know that in just two short weeks, I have settled into my foster home and I am a happy girl. FM says I am a little timid around new humans, but I love my foster sister. I listen well and walk perfectly on a leash! I even know a few basic commands like "sit". I am pee pad trained and I go outside as long as I am on a schedule. Did I mention that I LOVE to play fetch? I like to sleep in my humans room at night, but I don't have to be in the bed with them, just as long as I know they're in the same room. I'm go to see the dogtor again soon for an update on my skin, but FM thinks I'm doing better. Stay tuned for more!
INITIAL BIO 10/14/2014: Hi, my name is Alli. I'm a Yorkshire Terrier. I am 7 years old and weigh 9 lbs. I'm currently being fostered in Miami, FL
My previous family was unable to care for me so they took me to the local animal control and asked for help. The shelter called UYR and they stepped right up to take me to my new foster home.
FM took me to the vet where they did all sorts of tests. See, I've got flea allergies. My skin is sensitive and those little buggers have been on me for a long time. The dogtor told me and FM that with steroid treatment, antibiotics and medicated baths I would be back to my beautiful self in no time! I'm missing a lot of hair around my body but the dogtor said that it should grow back. That makes me so happy. I'm a social butterfly and I love to meet new people and go for walks. I want to be out and about and enjoy the good life. Be sure to check back soon for another pup date from me. In the mean time, I'm settling in quite nicely in FM's home. Hugs and Kisses, Alli
