Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Shalom. The implied meaning of Shalom/peace in the Hebrew is: 'May that which seeks to create chaos in your life be destroyed'. My rescuer named me that as I was a form of chaos in her life, as she was fearing for her birds safety. SHE LOVES HER BIRDS! God used me to destroy the chaos in her heart that wanted me gone and she came to love me and provide for me until she could find a home for me. As a result, we have both obtained SHALOM/peace. My rescuer lives on 10 wooded acres and has no other pets. She heard me going 'meow, meow' and tried to make me go away. She knows me and birds do not mix. Her attempts to make me leave failed. Eventually she succumbed to my charms. I am VERY forgiving, very sweet, and very cuddly once trust is earned. I have also been held and cuddled by her son and his girlfriend who FELL IN LOVE with me and wanted to keep me but they could not because their jealous dogs and cat would eat me. I LOVE 'Be Happy' by Purina dried cat food. I also love cheese. I also love Hill Country brand chicken cat food. I am an outside cat mostly. My rescuer has, after lots of patience, persuaded me to come in the house and let her hold me. I lay across the bed with her sometimes and purr my beautiful head off. Then I want to go back outside:) I love to sit on her lap on her patio and purr. I would love to live in the country. That is all I have known so far. I live under my rescuers house. She has a big pillow under there for me. I also hang out on her porch and sun. I wait for her to come home from work and I am outside her door every morning waiting for my breakfast. I am very smart! Please consider me for adoption. You will not be sorry as my heart is as big as Texas:)
