Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sienna is a Catahoula/Heeler Mix. She is white with light brown spots and brown ears and was born in June 2014. She is loving, playful and ALWAYS happy.
I, Sienna, had been out in the Fifth ward for a while, because my rescuer remembers deworming me 3 weeks before I was picked up. On a typical Friday evening feeding route, they saw me in my usual spot with a huge distended belly. With all the foster homes filled to capacity, unfortunately there was no place for me to go and I had to be left. But I’m a sweetheart and had left a lasting impression...they returned the following day to pick me up! A visit to the vet showed no vast outstanding health issues (YAY)!. Turns out I was just wormy, gassy and anemic from parasites. I’m such a happy and playful puppy. I’m really trying to be a quick learner and aim to please.
I love to play with stuffing-less toys (mainly because my sister dogs already tore all the stuffing out), rope toys, bones...okay, I love all toys! From tug of war to finding that little part that makes a noise (my foster mom calls it a squeaker), they keep me entertained very well. I also love falling asleep on soft cuddly blankets or a soft dog bed. Did I mention that I love other dogs?! My 2 sister dogs right now are old and I wish they had a little more energy to play with me, because I sure LOVE playing with them! But I do love to follow them around and watch what they do. In the evenings we all 3 get to go for a walk! I didn’t know what to do at first, but I just follow my sister dogs and have gotten pretty good on a leash. At nighttime and for car rides I get put in my crate. I don’t mind it one bit and behave very well. Very rarely do I even make a peep.
Loud voices sometimes scare me. I am very loving and affectionate with new people. I haven’t been around any kids at my foster mom’s house, but I would bet that I would be great with them. I love attention and haven’t shown any sort of aggression. I do jump sometimes and play bite, but it’s all playful puppy things. I love other dogs but have never been introduced to a cat. I am almost housetrained as well. I never go in my crate. We are still working on the housetraining bit.
I would like a loving active family possibly who have children who would play and be energetic with me. Other dogs would be great too. If you are interested in meeting me please fill out an application at www.forgottendogs.org. Thanks!! I hope to meet you soon.
