Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Murphy, a classic handsome shar-pei. He's about 2 yrs. old and weighs 60 lbs. Poor Murphy- his previous owner decided that he wanted to get a puppy to replace Murphy, so he just opened the door and let him out to fend for himself until he was picked up and brought to the pound. Murphy deserves so much better, starting with committed owners who will make him a real family member. Murphy is affectionate and mild-mannered, except when he's "horsing around" with other dogs. Murphy is fine with cats- he mostly ignores them. He would be alright around older kids (> 8 yrs. old). Although Murphy is not destructive in any way, doesn't like to be left alone for long stretches of time- and who could blame him, given his history? He wants to be around his family. So someone who is around a lot would be the best situation for him. He walks nicely on leash, too, and takes treats gently. He does not jump up on people and knows a couple of commands, especially when treats are used. He is housetrained and has good house manners. Please note that Murphy is located in a foster home in VT. If interested in having Murphy join your family, please fill out an application at www.PeisandStrays.com. He is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccines
