My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cocoa came to us after she was found on a rural dead end road. She was very hungry, had ticks circling her neck, and was in danger of being attacked by a predator. Cocoa was vaccinated, spayed, and tested NEGATIVE for FIV and FeLV (contagious cat diseases). She is now ready to find a home of her very own. She is shy at first, but that is a ladylike act. Once she gets comfortable with you, she is very loving and friendly. She loves to be held and stroked, but typical for cats, she then wants to be let go so she can investigate the house.

She prefers to be the princess in her home. She likes to sit on a higher place and survey her kingdom. She does not appreciate other cats or kittens in her castle. Dogs are play toys for Cocoa. She had her foster family's dogs scared of her originally, but now that they ignore her, she leaves them alone. Cocoa does like all people very much (including a 12 year old boy in the home). She is very vocal and meows when she needs something. She will sit in your lap for a bit, then she likes to explore the home. She is very playful and likes to attack your feet if they move under the bed covers.

Cocoa has very good litter habits and likes to eat dry food and seafood varieties of canned food in addition to her dry kibble.

Cocoa is believed to be less then 18 months old and she may have already had a litter of kittens. She is probably a mix of Ragdoll and Siamese. She has longer hair that stays pretty clean and tangle free. She needs an occasional brushing, but does not need daily brushing to keep her hair from matting. Her tail is darker gray and bushy soft fur. She has beautiful blue eyes.

The adoption fee is $50.00. There will be an application, a vet verification, and a home visit prior to adoption. For the most part, we only adopt to people within 90 minutes of Hernando County. Go to www.arfn.org to find an application to start the adoption process. Cocoa is waiting!
