Here's what the humans have to say about me:
HUTCH - LARGE MALE MASTIFF X, WHITE WITH BRINDLE PATCHES, APPROX 6 MONTHS AS OF JULY 2014, SCHEDULED FOR HIS NEUTER

Hutch came into rescue recently. He was hitchhiking on the highway and was picked up by the RCMP. Nobody claimed him and so he is in rescue. He is very affectionate but is possessive of his person. He looks for guidance and will learn quickly to share.
Update from Sept 7/14: Wednesday night saw Hutch go home with Gale and kids for a sleepover to be ready for his early morning appointment at the Burns Lake Veterinary Clinic for his “tutor”! Hutch did awesome in a family setting. He wouldn’t do stairs though and had to be carried up to the tub for his bath. He just sat there and was shampooed until he glowed! He slept quietly in his crate overnight as he had to fast for surgery. He hopped into the van – he is a good traveler! He did very well meeting the staff and then was led to the back for his pre surgery meds. Staying overnight gives us an insight to what Hutch needs to be a great family companion. Neutering and vaccinations are only a very small part of the adoption process. Teaching them how to learn is the single biggest asset of the group foster program. The dogs learn how to learn by observing the stable, well rounded group of sanctuary dogs. And we live with the dogs, in as close to a home setting as we can safely manage. It works. Dogs like Hutch can leave here and go to foster homes as started, family dogs who need to learn “city skills” ie walking on a leash past multitudes of dogs and people, noises etc.
Pets can be flown to new homes. Application and homecheck required for all homes, the dog will go to the best home for the dog.
