Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hey! Hey! Hey!! Grrrrrrrrr, I'm Charlie, grrrrrrr. I always sound this way
because when I get excited I HAVE to pick something up in my mouth (toys are my
favorite but I will pick up ANYTHING if I can't find a toy). I have been with
my foster mom and dad for a few months (I think I'm about 8 months old). I am a
sweet girl. I weigh about 35 pounds now (some say I'm getting chunky but I just
don't see it). I look like a chocolate lab but I am much smaller. When I first
came to my foster people I felt different than I do now. I was found on the
porch of a church. I had marks all over my face because I had to fight for my
food. I was skinny (didn't see that either) and I really did not care for
people or other animals much. I just plain didn't trust anyone. I feel AWESOME
now. I live in this place and, you won't believe this, I have a NEVER ending
supply of food. I never have to fight for food anymore.
There are other dogs here. They eat, I eat, we all eat. It really truly works
- we don't have to fight. The three other dogs are Maggie, Georgia and Beans.
Maggie is my buddy. She is a basset mix with long ears - those ears are
delicious!! My mom says "Charlie!" a lot when I chew on Maggie's ears. Maggie
squeaks so apparently that makes mom squeak. I didn't say that these folks
weren't strange! Georgia is an older dog. She is a lab mix. Mom is posting
some pictures of me playing tug o' war with Georgia. I love her - she is fun.
She gets grumpy and doesn't want to play sometimes so when she grumps I go find
Maggie and the ears. There's Beans too. Beans is a schnauzer mix. Some call
him Beans, I won't repeat what I call him. I love Beans and Beans loves me but
he gets really particular sometimes. Mom says that he's jealous. I can't sleep
in the bed because Beans won't allow it. I do go up to mom in the middle of the
night and she will pet me and I crawl up next to her. What's Beans doesn't know
won't hurt him. :)
We also have cats here. We have Tiny (who names a 20 pound cat "Tiny"??) Tiny
likes to pat my head and say "hisssssss". Must be a cat's way of saying "Good
girl", he could use a really good nail trim though I tell you! We also have
Zilla. Zilla is a tiny Tiny. She ignores and avoids me for some reason.
There's also Nala. Nala is old. Really old. She walks crooked and everything.
I follow her around but she is no fun - no chasing that girl. I mainly just
look at the cats. I bark at them occasionally and act like I'm going to chase
them. If they would run I would chase them. Lazy cats.
When I first came here it was a bit odd. They let me IN the house. They let me
ON the furniture. I was skeptical. It took me a while to get used to coming
inside and sitting wherever I wanted. (Did I mention that they have a never
ending food bowl??) I am pretty much used to being inside now. It fits my new
lifestyle pretty well. I stay outside with the other dogs while the mom and dad
are at work. We have a huge yard and I have never even thought of leaving - why
would I?? (never ending food bowl!) When mom gets home from work we all get
treats. I love treats - they are a bonus to the food bowl! When dad gets home
we go walk. We walk through the woods and, you will not believe this, there is
a pond. We go by that pond FOUR different times. Bet you can't guess what I do
EVERY time!! I swim!!! I love to swim!! When we get back to the house my mom
and I play a game. It's called "Catch Charlie and dry her off". This game was
terrifying at first but now it's just a normal thing.
My pictures are not the greatest. I have to have a toy in my mouth most of the
time and I wag a lot!! It's hard to be still when you are such a happy dog!!
I would love to meet you and we can be friends forever!!
