Meet our little Gracie Lou, the pocket pittie! This adorable little lady is only about 38 pounds and is a happy ball of energy. Estimated birthdate: 12/29/12. She was found running down the road in the Corridor of Cruelty in Houston, Texas with a chain and rope around her neck. She was clearly scared and in need of some attention and affection after escaping her traumatic life. After her rescue, she was vetted and with time she got healthier and happier. She moved into a boarding/training facility and she has adjusted very well to the pampered life! She loves cats and gets along great with the three she lives with at the facility. She does okay with the other dogs, but she would prefer to be an only dog. She can get a bit possessive of her toys and bed around other dogs. She loves to be outside and can play a very good game of fetch. She could chase a ball or her favorite toy, a rubber gummy bear, for as long as you will throw it for her. Gracie Lou is very smart and already knows her basic commands, such as sit, stay, and settle. She is crate-trained, housebroken and is very friendly when meeting new people. She loves to go on walks with her weighted backpack and enjoys a challenge! She excels at agility and learns other tasks very quickly. Although she is quite excitable, this little girl is mostly talk and trust us...she does talk! Due to her poor care prior to her being rescued, Gracie Lou has permanent tracheal damage which makes her bark sound very raspy. Sometimes this can confuse people into thinking she is becoming unsettled but really she's just a chatty dog who enjoys talking to you! She LOVES playing with a water hose; chasing and leaping into the air after it. If you are looking for a very active, fun-loving and cuddly pup with a great smile, then Gracie Lou is the pup for you! Gracie Lou currently lives in Houston, Texas and is on the network for Portland because we have amazing volunteers that live here who help coordinate successful out-of-state adoptions. Corridor Rescue has the very fortunate ability to transport dogs to other states via the United Airlines PetSafe program. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $150. The transport cost is $225, which includes the airline flight, a new pet travel kennel that you can keep upon arrival and the required health documents from the veterinarian. The grand total for adopting this pet including adoption and transportation fee to the Portland airport is $375. To adopt Gracie Lou, please submit an adoption application online at www.corridorrescue.org under the More Information tab. If you have any questions, please email corridorrescueadopt@gmail.com Thank you!
