ADOPTED
MEET BELLA IN FT. WORTH, TEXAS! If you would like more information, please contact Connie Lawrence at conniel@andell.com. If you are interested in adoption please fill out our adoption application at www.brusselsgriffonrescue.org
Sweet Bella is looking for a forever family to call her own. This five year old, 15 lb. joyful beauty is a Brussels Griffon/Maltese mix.
Bella is a happy girl with a winning personality. She is described by her foster mom as sweet, funny, and playful. She gets along and loves to play with other dogs. She enjoys the company of and playing with respectful children. Bella knows the “sit” and “come” command, is leash trained, likes to go for walks, and will bring her toys to you. One of her favorite past times is chasing bubbles.
As much as Bella loves having fun she also enjoys sitting in the window watching the world go by, hanging out on the sofa or sitting in your lap. Like the Griffy side of her ancestry Bella likes to stay close by and sometimes underfoot. And, like the Maltese side of her ancestry, her foster mom reports that she doesn’t shed.
Bella’s one weakness and where she will need the most help from her new family is with house training. She can be good about going outside but she has to be watched to make sure she does her business and not just busy having fun. She will need to go outside on a regular basis – a strict schedule and patience are a must. Bella will also benefit, as all dogs do, from regular walks. Bella hasn’t had many accidents at all since her foster family started crating her whenever they are gone and overnight.
Bella does really good in her crate. She does not whine or bark according to her foster mom and she will head straight to her crate when she senses that she is supposed to.
Bella is not crazy about riding in the car though, so her new family should keep this in mind and work with her so she understands riding in the car is a positive experience. It could be she has spent little time in the car and/or when she was in the car it ended with negative experiences - like the dreaded vet visit.
Other than the needed help on potty training, Bella’s foster mom says she’s perfect in every way.
Bella is up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, micro-chipped, heart worm negative and on preventative.
We all have our weak spots, do you have the patience to help Bella strengthen hers? Bella will make a wonderful companion for the right family – could that family be yours?
Bella is located in Ft. Worth, TX.
Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
