Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This fabulous young girl is Hope! Hope was found living in a ditch on the east side of Springfield where she had been dumped. Hope was missing hair over possibly 70% of her body and looked terrible (last pic was from when she was first spotted.) She was scared of anyone who stopped to help her and would run back into the trees to escape. However, some wonderful people were finally able to get her to trust them enough to get her in their vehicle. We feared mange at first with this poor girl but the vet confirmed her serious skin condition was due to both bacterial and fungal infections, possibly due to a flea allergy that was left untreated. It appears this has been a chronic issue based on the condition of her skin. Hope was placed in a foster home where she has made a wonderful recovery and is ready to find her own forever home! We believe Hope is a Wolfhound mix; she weighs about 60 lbs and has a charcoal-colored coat. We estimate her to be about two to three years old based on her teeth. She is very sweet and was hanging out with a couple dumped kittens before being rescued so we know she's good with cats. She's also good with other dogs and has become much more trusting and affectionate with her foster mom over time. Hope seems to be a very kind and gentle soul so she would also most likely be good with kids as well. She is housebroken and good on lease. She is also crate-trained. Hope's adoption fee will be $150. She has been fully vetted but her new people should be aware she may have skin issues that will continue to need maintenance. Are you the right person to give Hope the wonderful, loving forever home she deserves? Contact us today to set up a meet and greet with Hope!
