My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Max is a 10-11 year old neutered male Golden Retriever. He is a loving dog waiting for a special human to share his affection. Max is very active and gets along with other dogs and cats. He loves attention (don’t we all) and will be your constant shadow. Max has no bad habits we can discern, listens and obeys basic commands well, doesn’t run off, and can be left alone in the home without fear (he is a stealth counter-surfer though if cookies are left out within reach). He walks on a leash well and is on the lookout for a patch of grass or two to rub his coat fur into. He is good around children (our granddaughter and any friend that comes over) and doesn’t try to jump up on everyone. A typical golden, he just thinks everyone wants to pet him.

Max does take thyroid meds and eye drops for dry eye. He will put his head in your lap to entice you to play and retrieve any shoe you left around when you return home. He doesn’t covet the couch and prefers to sleep on the floor over the dog bed.

Max is a gorgeous dog, well mannered, and would be a wonderful addition to any home situation that loves dogs.
