My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rufus is a big dog with a big heart! We are heart broken no one claimed him after he was picked up. He is such a sweet dog and so gentle! He is a little shy when you first meet him but it doesn't take long for him to warm up. We can't blame him for being a little timid though...the shelter is a scary place for new dogs and Rufus just can't understand how he ended up here.

Rufus is very good on a leash and knows how to sit. He LOVES belly rub and treats! He is a little scared of squeaky toys and seems to like to snuggle over playing fetch and that is ok with us! He is a great cuddle bug and quite the lap dog despite his size! He seems to get along well with other dogs and loves his kennel neighbor Jasper!

Rufus is looking for a home who will love him forever! He would probably do best in a home with older children because of his shyness but we haven't had the opportunity to have him around small children and he might absolutely love kids so we are open to other options.
