Here's what the humans have to say about me:
***10/15/2014 - ADOPTION PENDING!!!***
Date of birth November 30, 2012.
Bailey would love nothing more than to celebrate her second birthday with her new forever family. This fine young dog is registered with the American Border Collie Association and she shows many of the traits that make border collies so popular – she’s athletic, intelligent, affectionate and eager to please.
Bailey is good with other dogs, and she pretty much ignores the cats at her foster mom’s house. She’s said to enjoy the children that visit her although her energy level may be better suited for those over 8. She’s housetrained and crate trained, rides well in the car, and is polite on a leash. We’re guessing she weighs 35-40 lb. Bailey doesn’t seem to know basic obedience commands but is very attentive and would be an eager student if someone took the time to teach her. We’re told she has some sound sensitivity to storms and fireworks so her new family will need to make sure she’s restrained when there’s a danger of loud noises.
Like most border collies Bailey has a lot of energy and will require regular exercise to keep her fit and happy, but she’s also content to spend time just hanging out with her family and is quiet in the house. Bailey LOVES to play ball, whether with you or by herself, but she may not always bring it right back to you. She will happily carry a ball in her mouth as she zips back and forth from one end of the yard to the other, occasionally placing it on the ground and using her feet and her nose to play a little soccer. She remains friendly if other dogs come around her ball, and while she loves it, she doesn’t become obsessed.
Bailey is fast and agile and that would make her a good candidate for dog sports. But perhaps best of all, when she’s happy to see you she makes the most adorable harroo sounds and she adores cuddling. She just needs someone to cuddle with!
Bailey's adoption fee is $150 and includes spay, vaccinations, microchip, collar and ID tag.
If you are interested in possibly adopting Bailey, please complete the on line application on this website then contact Joan at findadog@hotmail.com or 208-283-9513. You must be willing to drive to southwestern Idaho to meet Bailey if you would like to possibly adopt her.
