Here's what the humans have to say about me:
***COURTESY POSTING FOR RESCUE FRIEND. CAT INCENTIVES AND FEES NOT APPLICABLE TO THIS ANIMAL***
Jake has big personality. But don't they all? So many people want a cute little dog, but don't bother training them and wonder why they aren't the perfect little lap dog. This little guy has lost his third home. It wasn't his fault he didn't get enough exercise (every good dog owner knows that bored dogs do things we don't want). It was also not his fault that no one bothered to train him. Jake is NOT a good dog for a first time dog owner. Preference will be given to someone who is familiar with Min Pins (or similar small, energetic dogs like Jack Russels, Italian Greyhounds, etc.) AND is willing to participate in training classes. Patience is also a must. He responds well to food incentives. :) Please read this article on the breed. http://minpinmania.org/2013/03/19/so-you-think-you-want-a-miniature-pinscher/ This video is also worth watching... http://dog-breeds.findthebest.com/l/103/Miniature-Pinscher-MinPin Jake is a sweet, intelligent and friendly little guy. LOVES to sleep under the covers, so be careful where you sit! He should not be the only dog in the house. He requires a VERY active family or a doggy playmate to run/play with to burn off some of his excess energy. That being said, will only place with someone who already has another dog or can demonstrate a high activity level (NO exceptions). Jake weighs in at 10 lbs. or so but plays hard and has a big dog personality which means he does well with larger dogs. Watched a friend's Black Lab and they did VERY well together. He enjoys a laser pointer as much as a cat, which comes in handy on a cold or rainy day. :) Jake is now completely vetted...neutered and current on all his shots this summer (including Bordella/Kennel Cough). Has even been micro chipped. Please plan on reimbursement for vet visit, neutering, etc. A copy of vet info for your records is available upon adoption. Serious inquiries only. Please leave your number for call back. Would love to tell you all about Jake. Vet reference required in addition to home visit.
