Lookin’ for LOVE In All the Right Places. . . Do you have what it takes to be that “Last Right Place” where I can be treated like the Goddess of Goldens I am? If so, your home might be just what I deserve!
SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE LAST RIGHT PLACE:
My name is Krissie and I was an owner turn-in, along with my brother, Ryan (see 2008 success story). Although we weren’t exactly littermates we WERE purchased at the same time and were roughly the same age. Unfortunately, one of my first two-legged family members developed allergies to us and Gulf South Golden Retriever Rescue came to our aid, and we are being fostered by a family with four other rescued Goldens that get to live here forever! Now, I’m looking for the same thing.
A consistently safe and loving environment where I will be treated like a member of the family. In return I intend to provide endless devotion and adoration. I have so much love to share, it’s sometimes difficult for me to contain it all. I wag my tail so much in gratitude and joy, it’s like a fan (Hey, that’s a good thing if you live in the South, right?)
I am a small girl with a beautifully thick coat, light in color. Did you notice my snout is a little darker brown than the rest of my face?? I am extremely affectionate and try my best to accept all of the love that surrounds me, and there is a lot of it here in my foster family. So, you’d have to be able to match that? And I know if you’re looking at this website, you have to have a Heart of Gold, so in return, I will be even more affectionate and generous with my appreciation by showing you how well I walk well on a leash. And, don’t forget, like most Goldens, I love to go for a ride in the car. So, with me around, you won’t ever be lonely or sad. I will be your constant and willing companion day and night.
When I first came to my foster home I had no idea what a “toy” was or even a “treat.” But with patience and understanding, I’m learning how to play and how to be rewarded! Boy, was I missing a lot! My favorite is a ball. I JUST LOVE TO FETCH! And, guess what? I’m even learning it bring it back and drop it at the feet of the two-legged who generously threw it to me! Smart, huh? I also love to entertain myself, so I’m not that demanding, and you need not have Joe Namath’s arm. I can play ball alone for hours, tossing it in the air and then chasing and pouncing on it. If not a ball, then I love to find long sticks in the yard, and run and run with them in my mouth. I am fast like the wind and beautiful like the sun!
I get along well with other dogs and really want to play (I miss my brother). I am a great watch dog and will let you know if someone comes to the door. Adjustment to a new home environment has been challenging for me, and I’ve been afraid of quite a few things like the vacuum cleaner. The noise and weird repetitive motions really scare me, as do long, stick-like objects that I haven’t found on my own and might be in the hand of a human.
I am being taught quickly that no thing or no one is ever going to hurt me, but I will need some tender patience and time to adjust to my new home. I am so affectionate and want so much to be close to humans. I crave that connection and bond. At night, I sleep between my foster mom and dad—well when I can get in there before my foster brothers do! I’m sure glad that they share! My forever friends at Gulf South have promised to help me find that Forever Last Place. Just wondering, could it be you?
