Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Impressive. That is what this boy’s achievements are. Now he just needs the right human to come along so he can continue on with his impressive ways. During his very successful racing career, Oopers demonstrated an incredible work ethic, athleticism, soundness and all of the qualities needed in a successful show horse. One of his numerous race fans took him upon retirement to insure he got a future. He’s been let down and rested on the farm and now she is ready to let him go on to his next owner so she can help another horse. This is a guy who is used to working and it would be a shame if he was only a pasture puff. As much as she loves him, she knows he should go to someone who will work with his talents.
Visit goodhorse.org to see his pedigree and his impressive race record.
This boy is a true war horse, running 87 times, 10-14-9 with earnings of $303,082. He will be eligible for the OTTB Shows special War Horse Prizes! He suffered an injury in his last race which was diagnosed as a non displaced fracture of the left sesamoid. He has been on the farm since March 2014. He has never had a lame step even when the injury was new. Oopers is sound but it’s recommended he still be off till February/March 2015 for best chance at him having a full productive second career. The owner has had 2 sets of xrays taken this summer most recent in July I believe.
Oopers is 16 hands and big boned. He is 9 years old with no vices. He is a wonderful mover and would be suited to most any career, but with that build I can see him jumping and loving it!
He is offered for our standard $300 adoption fee to an approved home and is located in Burtonsville, Maryland. Please contact me for more information.
