Here's what the humans have to say about me:
PLEASE HELP THIS SPECIAL NEEDS FUR-BABY! SHE IS NEARLY BLIND AND LIVING HER LIFE IN A CAGE. PLEASE READ HER STORY AND GIVE HER A CHANCE TO HAVE A LIFE AND GIVE SO MUCH BACK.
Gabby is about 8 years old. She was abandoned at the shelter when she was a puppy. Gabby's right eye is deformed with fur grown inside of the eye. She didn't get any treatment at first due to lack of resources in the shelter. Finally when Gabby was around 2 years old, volunteers got her 2 surgeries to remove the fur in the eye. Over time Gabby's right eye is atrophied but she still had eyesight on her left eye. About a year ago, Gabby started to lose her remaining eyesight and became completely blind. Gabby is vulnerable because of her size and blindness. To protect her from frequent dogfights, we have no choice but put her in the cage. Sadly, not only Gabby loses her eyesight, she loses her freedom to walk around inside of the kennel...

Gabby was a sweet girl to begin with. After her world went black, she became even more attached to people. Only once a week she gets to come out of her cage on volunteer visit day. She loves being held. She would stay on a volunteer's lap all afternoon, if up to her choice..till the end of the world :p She wouldn't struggle or get fussy at all. When volunteers put her down, she doesn't mind walking around either. Until she hears volunteers' calling of her name, she uses her ear to find her way back to volunteers. She's friendly to both people (even strangers) and dogs. She never fights with other dogs. She is sweet and not nervous like some blind dogs. We have made some videos to show her personality.
Video - of her getting to get out of her cage...where lives most of her life.
Gabby has been in the shelter for most of her life and that life is getting harder and harder. Gabby lost her eyesight gradually and she adapts well. She's calm and really low-maintenance. A safe environment, a warm bed, and a loving family is all she needs. We believe even in complete darkness, there's a chance for happiness. Please help find Gabby a home.
