Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello there! My name is Clark and I’m pleased to meet you. I’m one the hand some apricot poodle mix here at NBS. Just like my brother, Lewis – I’m a 3 year old neutered male . We came to the kind folks at NBS Animal Rescue when we I were found by a kind Animal Control Officer as strays. We were so horribly matted, malnourished, and scared...but the kind volunteers at NBS Animal Rescue helped make us more comfortable, gave us great food and fresh water, and ensured proper veterinary care. We also are lucky a warm, loving, and patient foster home for us to stay in.
Now that my legs are free from those awful mats, I’m spring loaded! Well, at least after I take a moment to get to know where I am at, and new people. Sometimes I am a bit shy, so I appreciate people who take the time to just let me sniff them out. As soon as I realize you are friendly, well heck!? We can be friends. My foster mom laughs, because I’m a “kiss and run” kind of guy. I way my tail, give kisses and run away as fast as I can. I suppose I am a little flirty. I could stand to gain some weight…so if you’ve got some tasty treats, that would be a really nice way to help me warm up to you. I’m trying to find a home that is gentle, and quiet. I would love to have a fenced yard, as I've never been on a leash before and it scares pretty badly. Also, I am really afraid of sudden movements and cower from loud noises. That being said, I’d prefer to be in a home with out small children. I’m irresistibly cute, and I could easily be hurt or frightened. Don't get me wrong, I'm a gentle and sweet fella...I just have had such bad experiences with people in my past and that will take time to overcome. I really need to find a home that will love me and help me gain some confidence.
So far, I’ve been doing that through play. I’ve never really had that opportunity before. Now after I wake up and go potty outside, I come back in to chase little tennis balls, wrestle rope toys, and shake up squeaky stuffed animal or two. This toy tussling gig really helps give me a sense of adventure! I keep bop’n my brother with rope toys, but he doesn’t wanna tug. (siblings, ugh!) Anyhow, if you think you or someone you know would find my tiny self to be a pawsitively wonderful pal, please fill out at an application at www.NBSAnimalRescue.com
Or if I am not the boy for you, and you think I’m cute – you can always make a donation to help with my brothers leg surgery. You can donate on that same website. Well, I have to go get some snacks, puppy kisses! - Clark
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, De-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food.
If you think that I might be the perfect addition to your family, please contact the awesome volunteers at N.B.S. Animal Rescue at nbsanimalrescue@gmail.com for any additional information or answers to any questions you might have.
You can fill out a simple online adoption application at www.nbsar.org and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!
Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative, cats must be current on Distemper, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative at the time of application.
While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and will fill out an adoption application right away, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family. Would you please help me by sharing my picture and information on your Facebook page, or e-mail to your friends and family members? I'm a great pup and I really deserve a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
