My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scout is a full mane, 5 year old teddy bear of a golden. He is happiest when you are petting him. He loves to play fetch and doesn't really seem to know how to wrestle with his foster brother. More and more he is engaging in play with his foster brother, but after a while, he would rather trot over to the nearest human for some loving. Scout seeks out attention and even commandeers it from his foster brother or litter mate, Piper. He craves human interaction but also stays physically very close to Piper.

He is the drool king and is a full snout water drinker. He gets so wet Piper tends to lick him dry. Like Piper, he makes a great guard dog, in some instances he doesn't even have to see anyone. If Piper begins barking, Scout will enthusiastically join in. He is crate trained although we have not crated him since he has been with us. He is not a counter surfer and won't beg while you eat. He sits for a treat but will try to be the first to receive it. Like Piper, he tends to eat much too quickly, so we feed him a little at a time so he won't choke or toss his meal.

Scout loves his new sleeping arrangement. Where he was once relegated to a shared crate with Piper, he now loves to stretch out on a full size dog bed. He doesn't assume that every room in the house is his to explore. He will wait on an invitation to enter a new room or the house. He is quite the gentleman at letting you walk through the doorway ahead of him. Storms do not seem to affect him, but sudden noises make him jump. Raised voices will prompt him to slink away to another room. He tends to play the Alpha card with other males, but quickly they find their place in the male order and then he has a new best friend.

Scout came in with his bonded littermate Piper and they'll need to go to a home together. We wouldn't want to break these two beautiful dogs up now would we?
