Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Roxie came to us with her brother, Duke. They lived with a couple who decided that because they were going into the ministry, could not take their dogs with them. These two dogs were six years old at the time (they turn seven November 2014) and were left at the local shelter. Because they are owner surrenders, the five day stray hold did not apply to them. This bonded pair had only 48 hours to be rescued. They would never see the adoption floor. It was not a hard decision to say yes when we were asked to save these two. They spoke to us. After six long years they were left at the shelter to die. We could not let that happen. It's been a hard road trying to find them a home, but we will keep trying until we do. We would prefer that they go together as they have been together since they were born. They would do best in a home with no cats. They are inside dogs. They LOVE to swim. They love to explore and have dug out before, so they should not be left out for long periods of time without supervision. Duke and Roxie deserve to live out their lives in the comfort of a loving home, not here at the rescue. Won't you give them that chance?
