Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bernie is a middle age man (estimating 4-5 years old) with a proper outlook on life. He is a perfect gentleman, mild mannered, quiet, gentle and with just the right amount of energy for the average family. He is going to make a wonderful family pet. He gets along with other dogs and cats. And, he loves his human companions, especially when they offer him a tummy rub. Bernie loves being indoors and also does well outside with a four foot fence. However, he can manage to hurdle a shorter fence when convinced by the noise of a loud thunderstorm. He has also been known to coax open a kennel door when bored. But, in either case he heads straight to the house for some indoor relaxation, reassurance and company.
Bernie has a very cute character about him. He is an avid user of his paw to let you know when he wants attention or when he doesn’t want a leash on. We think Bernie may actually be a rough coated collie (like Lassie) cross. His wonderful temperament, long coat and more pointed face all seem to favor that breed pick. He is around 55 pounds and boasts a beautiful long tri-color coat that flows when he prances.
Bernie is being fostered outside of Richmond, VA.
