Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Our boy Micheal Phelps was found swimming in a neighborhood pond and was brought to a high kill shelter in Baton Rouge by the person that rescued him from the pond. After taking him to our vet we figured out why he was swimming - Phelps, as we call him, has compromised eye sight due to dry eye in both eyes and probably got confused and walked into the pond. He will require eye drops/liquid tears daily for the rest of his life. The cost of his drops is inexpensive.
While his sight isn't 20/20 he gets around just fine. He certainly can find his food bowl come dinner time! His only limitation is that while he will go up stairs, he's not real sure about going down stairs.
In our book, he's a winner! His sight limitations haven't impaired his ability to be a great companion with much love to give. He loves his toys and gets along well with his other foster dog friends.
Phelps is fully vetted, Heartworm negative, micro-chipped and waiting for his new family to find him. He is being fostered west of Baton Rouge and willing to travel to meet potential adopters. If you are interested in hearing more about Micheal Phelps, please contact his foster mom at akaygibson@gmail.com. His adoption fee is $150.
