Here's what the humans have to say about me:
All HSWA dogs are in foster homes and need an appointment to be seen. Please call 205-554-0011 or email humaneswa@yahoo.com to request an appointment to see the dog/puppy and to check availability. Before choosing a pet, we recommend meeting the pet or asking questions first.
Who wouldn't fall in love with this energetic and friendly little pup?
This good looking boy is Larry, a 7- to 8-month-old (as of 8/14) male Golden Retriever/Terrier mix. He has a golden red smooth coat with white markings. Larry will be a big dog since he already weighs 42 pounds and will probably get to around 60 when fully grown. He was pulled from our local animal shelter, where he had been found near a vet clinic as a stray. Larry was down at the shelter for almost two months, so it was time to get him out of there!!
Larry is a very friendly, fun pup! He is so playful with a great personality! He does have a lot of energy, and will need some training and structure to help him develop into a well-mannered adult dog. Larry seems to do very well around other dogs. He may have too much energy for an apartment, and he will require a fenced yard. Larry should be fine with children ages 12 and up, not younger due to the risk of inadvertently knocking over a small child. We have started Larry on his crate training. You may notice his tiny ears for the size of dog he is. The vet thinks he may have had hematomas on them, which caused them to shorten and thicken. He may need periodic ear cleanings, but it is nothing serious. Larry is up to date on his vet care, neutered, heartworm-negative and is microchipped. Larry is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Bring lots of happiness into your home with this fine fellow - you’ll be so glad you did!
Our flat adoption fee is $75. All animals have received tests and vaccinations, and have been spayed/neutered if 5 months or older. Adopters receive copies of vet records. Read more info on our adoption process at www.humanesocietyofwa.org/howtoadopt.html. Then, if you feel your home might be the right forever home and you would like to adopt a dog, submit an adoption application or email us at humaneswa@yahoo.com for more info. If you're concerned about availability before getting to meet the pet, we recommend submitting an application first. A preliminary application does not bind you to adoption for a specific animal or to adopt at all. We do not charge a fee to apply.
To apply for adoption, submit an online application or contact us for more info or for an appointment to meet this dog.
