This darling bundle of energy was found by a neighbor on our block in East Gardena on July 10th. She was "at large" several times over the next fewl days because their fencing is not secure. Late one evening, this sweet pittie girl was observed frolicking with another little dog that recently moved to the neighborhood (and was escaping from the yard frequently under the driveway gate). The neighbors kept her until July 21st when a Carson Animal Control Officer picked her up and took her to the shelter. Her review date was 7/25. The shelter volunteers were so fond of her they selected her for a Glamour Photo Shoot so she would have a better chance of getting adopted. Sadly, her owner didn't come for her....and she was running out of time until Little Red Dog Rescue, http://www.thelittlereddog.com/ agreed to take her if foster home could be arranged.
At present, she is temporarily fostered in Gardena with a 7 year old Pit Bull female as well as several cats. However, a more permanent foster arrangement is still needed. Sophie's current foster mom has returned to work and managing this young, energetic and rambunctious dog in her current foster family's household with their other animals and work schedules is quite a challenge, so another foster or adoptive home is desperately needed for this girl!!!!
UPDATE: So far she has been interested in the cats, but has respect for them and interacts appropriately when her foster parents are home (howeer, it wouldn't be wise to leave her unsupervised with cats at present).
