My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rufus is a chiweenie. He's 8 lbs & ~4 years old. He joined us June 2013. He was one of the most scared dogs I've ever rescued. He had only been kept in a crate previously because he had more confidence in a crate. He's progressed so much since we got him. He's shy but does not nip or growl. He is cautious when you approach him, but quickly gains confidence when he gets comfortable. He will back off if you reach or grab for him too quickly. Loves to sleep in his foster's bed and cuddle against her. He loves to play with the other dogs in his foster home. He's sweet. Loves to cuddle in the bed. He gets along with other dogs and cats. He will never jump up onto your bed, table or couch...because I think he doesn't know how to. He will give a little turkey bark so that you'll pick him up and bring him on to the couch with you. We call it a turkey bark because his cute little bark sounds like a turkey gobble. Once he is completely comfortable in his new environment, he will give tentative little kisses. He's up to date on shots, flea and heartworm prevention. He is neutered and chipped. He's heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $100.
