Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jenni was pulled in February from the Tulsa Animal Shelter with a broken pelvis and 2 fractured legs. She had several x-rays, full medical work up and was given lots of meds. We consulted our vet and the staff at MU as it was decided that since she was much younger than the previous shelter though it would not be in her best interest at the time to do surgery on her. Her bones had already started to mend after sitting in the shelter for over 4 weeks with no medical care. It was decided to wait until her growth plates were closed and recheck her then. Fast forward 5 months.....Jenni had her vet appointment yesterday to check the status of her legs and pelvis. She was also spayed and had her umbilical hernia repaired. Several more x-rays were taken. There is no arthritis build up in her joints and with the wonderful mobility she has it has been determined that at this time no surgery is necessary. Now, surgery is always an option down the road if she starts to develop pain or any issues. This is great news for Jenni. She has been through so much in her short amount of time that not having to put her through anymore stress is fantastic.
Jenni is now looking for her forever home. She is a wonderfully sweet little girl who loves kids and does well with other dogs after a proper introduction. She is a little skittish around new people but warms up very quickly. She is about 1 yr old and weighs 40 lbs. She needs to stay at this size as to not put added weight on her small frame. We will stay in close contact with her new adoptive family and raise funds if surgery is needed down the road. Please don't let her past discourage you. She is so sweet and forgiving....she just wants a family of her own to love.
