Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jake is a calm and happy boy who will be a wonderful addition to any family. He’s a Great Pyrenees mix and is big and fluffy. He weighs in at 100 lbs and is not overweight. Jake came into rescue because he was found wandering the streets and his foster mom took him into her home.
Jake is a serene adult dog of about 6 years and will be a loyal companion. He will love to be your shadow and never leave your side. He’s a smart boy, a quick learner and very eager to please. He knows “sit” and is pretty good at “down” and “stay.” He is also learning to “leave it”. He is leash trained and when off leash in the yard, he will follow a step behind on your left side. Jake goes wild for rawhide chews and milk bones but does not gravitate towards typical dog toys.
Jake is housebroken and does fine for long stints in the home when his foster family is gone for the day. He does not like to be left outside alone for long intervals when people are home. At night, Jake likes to cuddle in bed for a few minutes then settle in a spot on the floor. He sleeps soundly through the night, but as soon as you stir in the morning his excited and fierce tail wagging is loud enough to wake the dead.
Jake is a social dog and always wants to make friends. He would be great in a home with another calm dog but will soon walk away from a high-energy dog. He would also be fine as an only dog. He is currently fostered with 2 toddlers and 2 cats. He is very patient and compliant when the children want to love on him and he enjoys the attention. He also loves cats, maybe a little too much. He will pester the cats in his foster home constantly wanting to sniff them and lick them. He would do best in a home without cats or would be okay with cats that are dog-savvy.
Jake is an easy, happy go lucky, gentle guy. He is a lover boy and just wants to be close. He’s quiet except for when his tail thumps. His foster family has only heard him bark once or twice during his whole visit. He would be a lovely addition to any family. Jake is completely vetted and ready for his new forever home. If you have room for Jake in heart and home, please apply online at www.codrl.org. Jake's adoption fee is donation to rescue to help with his vetting.
Central Ohio Dog Rescue is not a shelter. All of our dogs are fostered in our homes and treated as family until they are adopted. We will not ship dogs and all adopters will need to complete an application before meeting one of our dogs. Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered will be adopted out with a spay/neuter agreement and refundable deposit. Dogs/puppies are NOT adopted out of state without a positive vet reference. Prospective adopters must be at least 24 years of age to adopt. All pets in the household must be spayed/neutered and current on vaccinations and heartworm. We process many applications and may not respond to every applicant. We try to chose the best home for each dog based upon the individual dog's needs. Please check out our website for additional information: www.codrl.org
